Beautiful hues from pale blue to vivid deep blues are possible with this ancient dye on everything except polyester and acrylic.

First time?  We have lovely cotton gauze scarf’s available to try shibori folding techniques. An example is available to see on our “Upcoming Classes” wall at the Center.

Or bring your own items such as Yarn, Roving, clothing items such as a scarf, Tee-shirt or even socks.  Up to a 1/2 pound dry weight.

Sat Nov 16 will be about how to set up and use a reduction vat. A discussion of natural fermentation indigo vats and other methods to use indigo. Simple tied and clothes pin clipped methods will be used to create patterns.
We’ll learn about more complicated sewn and tied in objects to create even more patterns so you may ready items for the next class during the week

Sunday Nov 24 we’ll look at Shibori folding, tying, sewn and wrapped objects to create patterns in the lovely blue. Both cotton, raw silk and silk/wool blend scarves are available to dye in this class. Or bring another item you have prepared, up to 1/2 pound dry weight to dye.
