Upcycled Journals: Crafting Art from Everyday Items
Discover the art of transforming ordinary materials into one-of-a-kind journals! In this creative and eco-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to repurpose junk mail, cereal boxes, old magazines, and books into beautiful, functional journals. This hands-on class will guide you through the basics of decorating, assembling, and binding your unique masterpiece.

Required Art Supplies
For this workshop, the essential supplies include:

  1. Old Magazines & Books: These can be used for pages or decorative elements.
  2. Junk Mail: Any colorful flyers, postcards, or envelopes that can be upcycled.
  3. Cereal Boxes & Food Packaging: For durable and creative journal covers.
  4. Scissors: To cut materials to the desired shapes and sizes. Slide cutters are great too.
  5. Glue: Strong adhesive or Mod Podge is essential for sticking papers and embellishments together.
  6. Acrylic matte medium: gel preferred but the more liquid is good too.
  7. Decorative Supplies: Stickers, stamps, fabric scraps, or any embellishments you wish to add to your journal.
  8. Papers for Extra Pages: This can include scrapbooking paper or recycled paper if you need additional sheets for your journal.
  9. Large sewing needle: if you have one, bring it. Otherwise there will be a few to share.
  10. Bits of fabric, lace or trims. Doilies, paper or thread.

Feel free to bring any special materials you might want to incorporate into your journal. Remember: Everything is an art supply until proven otherwise.
